Are you sure that board supports over 512 - maybe that's the problem...

the 7ZX supports mem sizes up to 512mb for a total of 1.5gb

Is it known-good memory or a new, untested module? It is very odd for
the board to see about 300MB, have you tried different memory slots?

If you just bought this module I'd return it and buy from someplace
with a compatibility guarantee like http://www.crucial.com

well i didnt see this cause i was out, but i changed the module for 2x
256mb modules, the BIOS read all the memory and it seemed okay at first,
then next boot it was just STOP errors all the time
