Whenever I restart my system - I am getting an error
message saying

Title of the dialog box: MSEXP32.EXE - Application Error

Error Message: The instruction at "0x0040f890" referenced
memory at "0x0000000". The memory could not be "read"

Click OK to terminate the programme
Click CANCEL to debug the programme.

The same message is coming again and again.

Kindly anybody help me how to get rid of the above problem
without reloading the OS. I tried to solve the prob by
defragmentation, check disk. But the prob remain same.

Thanks for any help.

Krish

I have a similar problem from various applications,
usually when they start up although it can be as I open a
file with an app. They always take the format
<appname>.exe : The instruction at <address> referenced
memory at <address> : The memory could not be "read" (
also "written"). I think it's something to do with windows
updates(as i didn't always have the problem), and I have
just got a brand new machine (because I was constantly
getting this error message on my old machine, and I had
tried re-installing W2K and new memory). The constants
between this new machine and the old machine are W2K with
all available service releases and Microsoft HTML help
workshop (which I have uninstalled but still get the
errors). It's driving me mad, and I would really
appreciate any help (but help Krish first!)

Thanks in advance
Jason

Have you tried searching for that application MSEXP32.EXE determine where it is and by selecting and right-clicking it choose properties and read the version and copyright information. If it is a Microsoft application try to determine what it is for. If it is not then let us know.

I tried to search the file MSEXP32.Exe by all means, but
could not found the file.

Well you cannot find it. That is strange for the error you got means it was "used" and the application gave the error. Did you try search in the command prompt like so:

Start | Run | cmd | OK | cd/ <ENTER> | dir /s msexp*.* > msexp.txt <ENTER>

Then look in this file msexp.txt on C:\

for msexp32.exe

Still cannot find it?
