i'm experiencing memeory leaks where the processes
"explorer" is gradually comsuming larger and larger amount
of physical memory, it has been a problem for quite some
time, i'm using Win XP Pro with the latest current updates,
did a re-format recently and i have Norton Anti-Virus 2003
with the latest virus definitions installed

so i'm wondering what could have been the problem here

please help, thanks

Over what period of time? Memory leaks are not uncommon, but if you are
talking about weeks, perhaps you should reboot now and again.
