Memory Leak?

Jeff

On a 2000 server a message appeared saying the system is
low on virtual memory. No other windows could be opened
but I could open the task manager. Physical and virtual
memory were maxed out. Store.exe was using 152 MB of
memory.

A reboot cleared things up and memory usage is now within
normal parameters. This happened two weeks ago and again
today. I'm concerned there is a memory leak. Messages in
the system event log include multiple entries of:
- Event ID 10010, Source: System. "The server {8C5CDF37-
B644-11D2-9E55-00C04FC3352C} did not register with DCOM
within the required timeout.
- Event ID 2020, Source: Srv. "The server was unable to
allocate from the system paged pool because the pool was
empty."
- Event ID 429, Source: smtpsvc. "Virtual Server Invalid
MailQueue Directory: The specified mail queue directory is
not valid. Cannot start the SMTP Service."

In the Application Log are several instances of Event ID's
9097 and 9099, Source: MSExchangeSA, refering to The MAD
Monitoring thread and error '0x80041006'.

What is the best way to go about troubleshooting the leak?
Thanks for any help.

All the items you mention are from Exchange server. Exchange server uses
alot of memory on its own. However you should repost this question to a
Exchange news group instead of a generic windows 2000 group.
