Memory leak in Windows Search!!!

Why does Windows Search eat up every memory address I've got?! After
reloading a computer with Windows Vista Basic, after running for a few days,
Windows Search starts eating more and more memory... and you know how that
goes. Hard disk starts thrashing. I had to disable Windows Search in
services.msc snap-in. PLEASE FIX THIS MICROSOFT!!! :)

By the way, the computer has 1 gig of RAM.

What I actually did was disable the indexing service, which causes Windows to
default back to the slow search. That is a workaround, not a solution. Why
does indexing use so many system resources??
