Memory Issue

Recently installed another 1GB of memory in my HP
Pavillion1430n..........AMD dual core 3800. The memory shows up in computer
properties as a total of 1.93 GB RAM.

OK The problem is with the sound. Whenever I have a media player operating
(WMP, Winamp, QT) there is a rather uglay crackling sound whenever I open
another program such as Word, or Netscape or whatever. Sometimes its just a
pop.....other times an extended crackling like an egg frying at pretty high
amplitude.
Otherwise everything works fine.......but this crackling noise is really
annoying and shouldn't be there. If I take the memory car out..... it GOES
AWAY! I tried a couple of card with the same problem.

Help is sought!

Thanks,

Marc

What is REALTEK.......???

I use a CREATIVE Audigy Card

It would be what is known as 'giving details in your original message' -->
something you obviously neglected to do.

You gave the make/model of the computer - although incorrectly in some
ways - and that would lead someone easily to where to get your drivers:

HP Pavilion Media Center a1430n Desktop PC
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1843642&lang=en

Where - for sound - it clearly shows drivers for the "Realtek High
Definition audio" <-- and I did not see any other options.

So - did you install this sound device yourself (the hardware/software) and
either way - did you take the advice and locate/install the latest driver
anyway? (Although - to be honest - it sounds more like hardware issues and
a driver is not going to correct it. If you have more space in the system -
move the card to a different location.)

According to HP you have to install the cards in pairs...........ie: 2
/512's need another 2 512's or (2) 1GB cards.
