When two memory modules both work properly when installed by
themselves but there are errors and crashes when the two modules are
installed together then this generally means that the modules are not
compatible with each other. This often happens when the modules have
different specifications in some respect (e.g. one module is PC100 and
the other is PC133), and/or when they are from different
manufacturers. It can even happen with modules that have the same
ratings and are from the same manufacturer but from different
production lots because of changes in the design and/or composition
between those production lots.

One other possibility, and that is that your memory slot 1 is damaged
in some way. All of your single module testing was done with the
module in slot 0. What happens when you use the computer with a
single module in slot 1?

Good luck
