Occasionally, I'll get the following error...
Application popup: Outlook.exe - Application Error : The instruction at
"<memory location>" referenced memory at "<memory location>". The memory
could not be "read".

No messages in event log. How do I cure this? It is getting quite annoying
and it happens here and there, not all the time.

This is an error caused mainly due to some third party addins to Outlook.
Assuming you work on Windows XP

try these .

1. Do a detect and repair for Office from Control Panel > Add / remove
programs > Microsoft Office > change > Repair.

2. If you still have the problem then click on Start> run and then type
REGEDIT and press enter. Click on the plus signs next to Computer > HKEY
CURRENT USER > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > OFFICE > OUTLOOK and delete the key
ADDINS.
Similarly delete the ADDINS key under HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > SOFTWARE >
MICROSOFT > OFFICE > OUTLOOK

This should fix.
