Memory error upon DC server Startup

J

John C

Hello,

I have a server which is a Domain Controller (windows 2003) and running
Exchange 2003. Every time the server is restarted, i get the following error
message during the startup process, just before the "applying computer
setting" stage:

The instruction at "0x00409ab" refereneced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read"

The server starts up OK.

Any ideas what this is?

Thank you

Hi John,

Thanks for posting.

For this issue, can be cuased by various reasons. For example: Memory
hardware issue. Software conflicts. etc...

As a DC+Exchange server, I think it is hard to perform troubleshooting
steps. My suggestions are:

1. Backup and move mailbox to other Exchagne server.
2. Transfer FSMO to other DC(If have)
3. Remove the exchagne and demote DC
4. If you still want to find out the cause, we then perform some
troubleshooting steps.

Best regards,

Vincent Xu
