Sounds like some of your 1GB of RAM is probably defective. Easy way to
test it is to take some out and see if it fixes the problem (you
probably only needed 512MB anyway). Better way to test it is to run
www.memtest86.com overnight.

It could be a software error, cpu, or motherboard problem, but 70% of
the time these sort of errors (especially if they are occasional,
random) are actually defective RAM modules.

There's no reason to be angry because this has nothing to do with the
physical amount of RAM installed in your system. You probably have too
many programs and/or services running in the background. You may have a
lot of spyware or a virus. Clean up your system first and then if the
problem persists, post back.

The fact that the address of the instruction and of the address it was
trying to access being identical apart from the leading 1 (ie exactly
256MB apart) smells very strongly of a program error - that can hardly
have happened by accident. Which might arise if the hard disk file of
the program is corrupt (Does the error recur?) or might be a transient
hardware error in memory access.
