Often, when I close internet explorer, I receive the message titled
"iexpore.exe - Application Error".
"the instruction at "0xc6c371004" referenced memory at "0x198affa4", the
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program".

Hi,
It's almost certain that another program, probably malware, is causing this
problem.

Start by running BHODemon 2.0 from
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm The offender may simply be a
BHO.

Then you will want to run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS
Anti-Spyware (Beta.)
See these sites for help:

You may have to post a HijackThis log to one of these forums for additional
help. Look for the proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message
so that you follow proper procedure.

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at any
program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reinstall, or not
reinstall, a program.

This (lengthy) troubleshooting process may help:

Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393

Hope this helps,
Don

Yes I have Adobe Acrobat installed.
But now, I removed the MSN Search Toolbar and I don't have this error anymore.
That's a pity because the "tabbed browsing" feature of the this toolbar.
