Memory acess violation error message on boot up

Bob L

Hello:
As suggested I just installed the latest Windows XP
security and upgrade patches from Microsoft that were e-
mailed to me. They were QCLB, Q554998 and Q645467. After
I rebooted, I began to receive the following message
every time I boot my PC: (memory access violation in
module kernel 32 at.) after the "at" every time I reboot
it is a different series of numbers such as: 7451:4565194
and 8973:14191764.

I went to the help page and then to the MS trouble-
shooting web site. There I found info that there may be a
problem with my system configuration. I clicked
|start|run| then typed msconfig, I received the same
memory access violation in module kernel 32 at. error
message and I can't access the msconfig utility.

I'm kind of at a loose of what to do.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You are infected with W32/Swen@MM which can be removed with Stinger
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Microsoft never sends unsolicited files by email.
DO NOT open the file--it is NOT from MS.
REPEAT:Microsoft NEVER sends unsolicited files by email.

It is a virus masquerading as MS security.
The most recent is W32/Swen@MM which can be removed with Stinger
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

The others circulating are dumaru.b
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]
or a variant of the gibe worm.
Removal tool for gibe is at
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]
