Memo Type

I have had a mental block i think. I have set a field to type memo for
unlimited text but when i enter text on the form it only retains so much and
the rest disappears - what have i forgot

Strangely, Allen, i changed the field type to memo after i had created the
form - so on the off chance decided to delete form and create a new one which
did the trick. Thanks for your time

Ouch. I wouldn't mind betting that you still have Name AutoCorrect turned
on. If so, you might consider turning it off:

It was a new database so i removed all data from that field and re-entered it
once i had created new form - i assume that is ok (not sure understood the
article on Name Autocorrect if i'm perfectly honest?

Just select Tools... Options... General on the menu. Be sure that the checkbox
labeled "Track name autocorrect information" is unchecked. If it was checked,
close the Options window and select Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and
Repair database to get rid of the name autocorrect info.

It can sometimes be useful to turn on Name Autocorrect *BRIEFLY*, for example
if you want to use the Object Dependencies report. If you do so, I'd suggest
backing up the database and doing the analysis on the backup, not on your
working database. The feature is called "Name Autocorrupt" with good reason!
