Memo fields

I use a memo field for several note sections on different forms. I have the
field set to visable on display only so it does not print and works fine. If
too much is written and the form is not set up correctly it can push other
items off the page due to expansion.

I don't see much traffic on memo fields, ether for against them. I need a
field for notes which may be blank or be very long or anything in between.
It looks like an ideal candidate for a memo field. Is there any reason to
not use a memo field instead of a 255 text field here? The only thing I see
in this forum is that you can't apply formatting and see more than 255
characters.
Thanks,
Ken

While only a few others seem to have experienced the problem and it may
have been corrected with later version of Access, I did have some problems
with memo fields getting corrupted and they are a real bear to detect and
correct. They cause some real screwy problems. I suggest if you don't need
more than 250 characters, don't use them.

In any case good luck.
