¿Qué puedo cambiar en mi PC para mejorarlo y que el Windows XP
instalado en el sigua siendo legal? ¿Puedo cambiar el
procesador, o
el disco duro? ¿Puedo cambiar algo?
My Spanish is very poor, so I hope you can understand my English
reply.
I *think* you are asking what hardware change s you can make and
still keep your Windows XP installation legal. For example, you
ask about the processor and the hard drive.
First of all, is your copy of Windows XP a retail one or an OEM
one (for example, one which came with the computer)? If it's
retail, you can change whatever you want without a problem. You
can even take Windows XP off the old computer and install it on a
completely different computer.
But if it's an OEM copy, its license ties it to the first
computer it's installed on and it can never be moved to another.
How much you can change before it's considered a new computer is
a gray area that's never been precisely defined. Almost
certainly, changing the hard drive isn't a problem. As to the
processor, some people might consider that a new computer, but
they aren't necessarily correct.
Probably the most common view of what makes it a new computer is
changing the motherboard, but that isn't necessarily correct
either.
