Meeting Room database

Hi

I'm designing a Meeting Room Booking database and I'm a little stuck. I'm
quite new to access and i'm not sure where to go next.

I've created a couple of tables with the info I require in, eg: Location,
Room ID, Room Capacity, Resources, Resource ID, Users, Users Location etc

But I'm not sure what to do next.

What I want is to have a system that people can book rooms and resources
(i.e. Projectors etc) where double booking cannot be done. The present system
we have is an Excel spreadsheet with all the rooms, dates and times on and
people overwrite the times/dates they want. This is on a shared drive and the
problem we're havings is that anyone can go in a and delete someone elses
booking and input their own and we have no way of recording who is doing this.

Does anyone know of any similar sample databases that I could look at to see
what type of forms/queries I need to create?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Lindsey

p.s. Sorry for the extra long post )

Hi Lindsey,

I'd have thought that Microsoft might have included such a template that you
could analyze. Other than that, I don't know where you'd find a conference
room booking system that would let you see the innards.

You might check on www.simtel.com for freeware and shareware examples that
would work so that you could see what their working forms do.

Hi Larry

Thanks for your reply. I've found a template now which seems to be what I'm
looking for so I'm working with that to see how it applies to mine. For
reference its the Resource Scheduling template in Access
