Media Player stopped playing clips

I have spent a good amount of time searching this and
other groups for a post on this problem and can't seem to
find anything, so here's the deal. A few days ago I
noticed that mpeg files on the Internet will no longer
play on MS Media Player 9. The file association is set
correctly in Explorer and a double click on any mpeg file
already stored on disk brings up the program and plays
the file. I even tried changing the association to
another file player, but clips on the Net won't bring up
that program either, so I set it back. Any ideas as to
what's happening here? I checked all the settings in
Media Player as well and they are all unchanged. Thanks
in advance for any advice...

Carey,
Thanks for the resources. One of the links opened an FAQ
that addressed a similar problem. In my File Types tab
in Media Player, the movie file types were checked, but
they were also greyed out. I checked them all again,
tested a clip on the Internet and ...TADA, that did it.
Thanks again for the help.
