MEDIA PLAYER NOT AUTOMATIC

About two weeks ago, I had problems opening Windows Media
Player by selecting the .mpg or .mpeg files. Same thing
if I click on Movies or videos on-line. I can not open
those on-line, but am able to get .mpgs on my computer, by
using OPEN with.
This is rather slow. Any ideas of what I can try.

Set the player to be the default media player via Tools > Options > File
Types > Select All > Apply.
