Media Player Internal Error

My xp caught a virus while i was on the net, to fix it i re-installed win xp
pro. All is well now, however i keep receiving a message saying "An Internal
Error Occored" when i try to open media player. I have downloaded media
player and re-installed it but that did'nt help.

Any Ideas anyone? cos im baffled. :-/
