Hi all, I'm going to be building a media center pc for our house, It
will hold all of our music and video. it will be eather an amd 64, or
semprom. running debain or mythtv for an OS, I would like some
recomendations on vid cards and amount of ram needed for such a project.

Try comp.os.linux.misc or comp.os.linux.hardware since you're using
Debian. Also, check the Mythtv and Debian sites for compatible hw.
The Sempron are inexpensive alternatives to AMD64 especially the 3000-3100
Semprons. See Tomshardwaregroup cpu comparisions.
