Thanks to everyone who helped me over ont he other thread. Largely
disabling SEP has made the problem go away 2/3 of the time.
Of course, that still leaves the remining 1/3 of the time when windows
is crashing. As an improovement, it's no longer involuntarily being
shut down by it's own DEP, it's just old-fashioned crashing.
To become very specific- Windows is crashing when you look into a
folder that contains a movie file. (Any movie fiel I think, or at
least I hqaven't run into any that doesnt' cause it to crash.)
There is a noticable lag, it doesn't crash at first, it's onyl when
windows goes back to fill-in the info like size, duration, dimensions
etc... that it crashes.
Can I make it not do that? Not fill int he diuration, dimensions, etc?
I know you can make it not do that for tooltips with infotip in the
registry-- can you make it not do that for explorer proper?
