.mde download becomes read only

I am making a demo version of my Access database available for download from
my website, but when I receive it and unzip the file, it becomes READ OLY.
Not good.

How can I give other a demo online?
 
I have not run into this problem except when a user tries to open the mde
from the winzip window rather than extracting it locally first and then
opening the extracted file.
