In a network my mdb application, made in Access 2000, will start on only one
computer at a time when started from a shortcut. When opened as a file from
Office>Access it will start on many computers at a time. Many computers at a
time, from a shortcut, is what I want, obviously.
Is there a setting I must change in Access? My network administrator says I
should, but I can't find any. Or should he change a setting in the network
or the shortcut?

First before you get yourself in trouble, you need to split that
database. Access has a built in database splitter to get you started. You
can also look up split database in the help files for more information.

Not splitting it is likely to lead to a corrupted database and a lot of
unhappy users. Splitting it will avoid a lot of problems and it should run
a lot faster as well. I suspect it will also eliminate your problem, which
is likely the result of it being opened "exclusively"
