I have been using iHateSpam for several years without problems. However, I
was unable to install their most recent update. Their tech support folks told
me that it was because my MDAC needed to be updated. I am running XP MCE
w/SP2. I ran Component Checker and I am running the current version of MDAC.
I also ran a utility to re-register MDAC. As far as I know, I don't seem to
have any MDAC problems on my computer. Actually, I'm not even sure what MDAC
is!
I have never experienced any MDAC-related problems before. Sunbelt Software
says that their new version of IHS (4.0.623) requires MDAC to be updated --
but can't tell me why. I have tried everything suggested by both Microsoft
(knowledgebase) and Sunbelt to fix this problem, but to no avail. Since I
seem to be running the most current version of MDAC, I'm not even sure that
there's anything to fix -- and I don't know what it is that I'm fixing!
Does anyone have any idea about what might be going on?
Thanks.
