mdac 2.7 and unique ID

I noticed that if I have mdac 2.7 on my server, installed
together with Visual Studio .Net installation, everytime
I refer to a unique ID, it returns me the ID without the
curly braces.
Any idea how to retain the curly braces?

Can be a bit more specific. Where does it return you id without curly
braces?
