MCTS 528 and 536 Certifications

P

Pioneer

Hi,

I am willing to give MCTS 528 and 536 certifications.

Is it correct that the MCTS 528 exam is no mor relevant due to .Net
Framework 3.5 introduction?

If it is so, what is the certification I should give which would
reflect 3.5 framework?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

If Mark did not hate certification so much, he would have probably done
this:

The certs you want to look at, if not discouraged, are found on this page
under Visual Studio 2008:

None. All MCP "certifications" are a complete waste of time and money.

I disagree in some instances. There are a few positions here lately that
require either a degree in computer science or a certification. So
sometimes they do rear their ugly head.

We've been here before, though...

Who on earth would want to work for a company which perceived any actual
value or worth in these "certifications"...?
Somebody willing to take the good with the bad? It's unlikely that all
companies who use certifications in some way are not worth working for (and
by extension that all people who do work for such companies are idiots). If
*you* would not want to work for such a company under any circumstances,
good for you.

Personally, I have more trouble with the guys that want you to play
Microsoft trivia for 2-3 hours until they find the trivia questions you
fail at. If somebody wants to assault me in an interview, i would rather
end the interview and talk to someone else.

Another problem sign is the guy that draws up a "hypothetical" architecture
and then defends it to the max when you show why some of the pieces will
not work. Don't want to work for him either.

Certification requirement? What is 30 minutes in a test room and $100 if
the pay scale is good? ;-)

You also have to realize there are plenty of people from training companies
and even Microsoft who are selling the "value of certification".
