I updated my computer to MCE2005 just yesterday, now outlook is missing a
Cab.file.511974.mainsp3ff.msp, my McAfee SpamKiller no longer recognizes me
as the administrator, it also is no longer filtering my email. I am getting
all kinds of error pop up boxes that I never had before for all sorts of
programs. I have spent over 15 hours with McAfee live chat trying to fix the
problem, they finally admitted that the problem might be with the MCE
upgrade. My computer is brand new. There has got to be a way to either
revert back to original program or fix all of these problems.

I'm not familiar with Media Edition but in XP Home/Pro you can uninstall the
update in Add or Remove Programs or use "System Restore" and set it back to
an earlier date.

To uninstall update packages
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroupfaq.mspx
1.Click Start, click control panel, and click Add or Remove Programs
2.Click Change or Remove Programs
3.Click the Update you wish to remove, and then click Change/Remove.

System Restore

The information from Microsoft is that the update can not be removed once it
is installed. It does not leave an update in the add/remove programs. It
creates a new login for the owner that is supposed to have all administrator
rights. However the programs that I am having problems with are asking me to
log on as the administrator, so there must be something different or missing
in the profile that these programs are looking for. Media edition is based
on XP Pro. I can find the old administrator file by going to my computer/c
drive/documents and settings. There are three files showing; Administrator,
shared, and my new folder. However on start-up, I do not have a choice in
how I log onto the computer, only my new log-on is showing.

Try pressing ctrl-alt-del twice on the user selection screen and see if you
can gain access to the administrator login.

Jon You seem to be the only one who has a reply for this problem. But it
doesn't work for my situation. From what I understand, this seems to be an
Outlook problem? When I use Micorsoft ActiveSync for my iPAQ, Windows
Installer pops open and I get this error message windows is looking for
looking for \\...511974.mainsp3ff.msp. Do you have any ideas. I'm not
getting any responses from any of the other 'MVP's'
