Hey all,

I have a machine on which McAfee SecurityCenter was installed with all the
applications. (not by me though!) After the install, Outlook will no longer
download e-mail from the POP3 server. It connects and everything looks fine
according to the SMTP log file but the mail doesn't get retrieved. Even
after completely un-installing the software the problem persists. The same
is also true of Outlook Express using the same account and mailbox. I have
verified the problem is not associated with the ISP. McAfee says that with
the software un-installed, it must be some other problem but I am very
sceptical.

Have you ever run across this and figured out how to fix it?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Check your mail account setttings, especially the server settings to see if
your server is set as localhost. If yes, remove and reinstall your mail
account, using the settings from your ISP.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
