Maybe off topic, Sticker replacement

I have a unique situation (for me).

A new client suffered a massive power surge. The roasted
computer in question is being completely replaced. The new
computer arrives Friday. This is a semi-time sensitive
issue.

My question is regarding the license/authenticity sticker.
Is there any way to either get a replacement, or somehow
remove this to place it on the new case?

The new computer is a complete different form factor than
the burned out shell. Short of cutting the aluminium and
securing it to the new case, I am at a loss. The sticker
seem to have tamper proof mechanisms in place. I fear
attempting to remove it will render it useless.

Any advide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in
advance

Please send any replies to my E-Mail address as well. I
may not check here in the near future.

If this was an OEM XP version, then don't bother, it is non
transferable - OEM software lives and dies with the 1st computer
installed on - hence the massive power surge killed it. The owner
will need a new version of XP as well.

David;
Depending on the source of the OEM, the installation CD may not even
work after parts replacements.
The OEM is the only possible source for a replacement sticker since
Microsoft can not replace OEM parts.

As for removal...I do not know.
Perhaps a sharp razor blade carefully slid underneath.

Thank you for your answer.
(and the previous person as well)

This is not an OEM license. I will follow the advice of
the poster before you and attempt to remove the sticker
via sharp razor blade.

I would have certainly purchased an OEM copy for this
client if it was me doing the initial purchase. The
previous "tech" got a copy from Costco.
