Maybe O/T (DVD Copying Software)

This might be a question for another NG but maybe not, if it is just let me
know. Here is my problem. I have purchased three different pieces of
software such as Nitro Burn and Go, this is the type software that the
developers say "All you need is a DVD Player and CD Burner, no DVD Burner
neccesary". I am trying to install it on a 1.7 Ghz Celeron with 1GB Ram. Two
of the three always fail during installation even though the computer
exceeds the minimum requirements and one, although it does install will do
nothing as far as the burning process goes. So I am wondering, is there a
good piece of FREE software out there that will do the same? Burn DVD's to
CD? Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Thanks
J

DVD2SVCD
http://www.dvd2dvd.org/
You will find this software to be the single most advanced software
to Encode your DVD, DVB, VOB, MPEG or AVI into DVD, SVCD
or VCD. All done with a couple of clicks with the mouse.
Perfect for both the beginner and advanced user.

Eazy VCD
http://www.eazyvcd.tk/
Now it's so eazy, even my sister can rip DVD's.
With Eazy VCD, you can easily backup your DVD's to VCD, XVCD.
SVCD and XSVCD in as little as one click of the mouse

DVDx
http://dvdx.sourceforge.net/
DVDx allows you to convert DVD to VCD2.0 , SCVD1.0 or AVI (DivX...)
in one step (Including multiplexing, splitting). It produces good quality
movies in AVI , MPEG1/2 format and you don't need to have 5GB or
more free on your hard disk. DVDx has been designed especialy for
inexperienced users, it is a simple and intuitive program.

You can't really burn DVD's to CDs, mostly because a DVD has 6-12 times the
capacity of a CD. You can either convert movie to SVCD, or DivX. Other post
mentiones programs you need to make SVCD, and to make DivX (better quality,
but you need a PC or DVD player that supports DivX to play it, while all DVD
players support SVCD). You need to rip DVD with DVD decrypter, and then
encode it with AutoGK. The process is very simple and requires minimum of
user input and knowledge.
