Hi all,
I have installed a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 HDD & I am finding it very noisy
compared to my other 2 hdds'. The noise is similar to 50/60 hz mains hum &
it's definitely bearing induced. I cannot live with it.
The supplier(not Maxtor) says all HDD's make a noise and as analytical
software shows no problems then the drive can't be faulty. The only way I
can silence the noise is to hold the HDD in my hand(& can feel a definite
bearing vibration as a result) but as I can only type with one hand that
shouldn't be too much of a problem..lol.
Appreciate if anyone has any thoughts on Maxtor HDDs or who have had a
similar problem.
