Maximum file transfers?

Hello

I have noticed that my XP Pro machine will only download two files
simultaneously from any server on the internet. This also applies, for
example, when transferring files over MSN Messenger - the first two files
start to move, but subsequent files are queued until one of the original two
has finished.

Can anyone suggest how I can increase the maximum number of simultaneous
transfers?

It say increase downloads to 10 in IE.
