Maximum File Size

Is there a maximum file size that Excel can read? I know
the max rows is 65,536, but is there a limit to the
overall file size?
 
Not that I know of but your RAM (memory) does limit how much data an Excel
file can cope with.

Hi,



The maximum file size is limited by your operating system who inherited from
DOS the value 2 Gigabytes. The RAM will limit the speed to access the
information because the operating system will have to do swapping to fetch
from hard drive the information you wish to see.
