Maximum 4 Gbyte file size on XP?

Hi, Sir,
XP sp2 support maximum file size to 4Gbyte on FAT32 or NTFS ? Is this
correct ?

Currently I encoded the mpeg 4 stream form video capture card to a file for
a long time (over night) .. , then the maximum size is always 4 Gbyte. And
after stop the AP, this 4 Gbyte file can not be opened to play .. The mpeg
chip vendor said that's XP's limitation . Is that right ?

Thanks.

The max. 4GB file size applies to FAT32 only.

4 Gbyte.

Some applications have a 2GB or 4GB file size limit regardless if there
is FAT32 or NTFS installed. Check with the application's help file.

NO, it's NOT right. It is a fat32 limitation! Use the NTFS file system.

You will need to convert to NTFS, the limitation is for XP using fat32, not
XP using NTFS.
You can convert your fat drive to NTFS by using the XP coversion utility,
but you will not get the optimuim configuration.
You will need to use a partition manager to gt the optimium cluster size.
