Maximizing browser causing browser to move down

[Jerry Walker]

When I maximize the browser the status bar moves below
the bottom of the desktop and leaves an space at the top
of the browser window where the desktop shows through. I
am not sure what happened, i may have closed a pop-up
window from a web page last that messed up the window
properties of the original browser window. Not sure how
to correct this so the browser window will be displayed
properly when maximized.
