Maximized Windows Do Not Maximize Across Full Screen

Bob Gruett

I have an odd problem with a user at my site.

On occasion, while maximizing windows (happens in Word, Excel, and Outlook),
the window will maximize, but instead of covering the full screen it will
appear about 1/3 of the way down, leaving a gap at the top of the screen.
Furthermore, 1/3 of the 'maximized' window will disappear off the bottom of
the screen. In a nutshell, it appears that the window is maximizing
off-center of the screen.

The only time I have seen anything like this is when a multiple-monitor
environment is being used, and a user either turns off a monitor or moves
the logical placement of a monitor. When this happens, some less
intelligient programs will continue to maximize windows to the nonexistent
logical locations (WinAmp comes to mind).

This particular user has no such setup. As far as I can tell, all other
aspects of his system are working just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bob

Under Folder Options in the Control Panel under the View Tab, go to Remember
Each Folders View Settings, check if not checked or Uncheck Apply and recheck
the box Apply again. Now reboot the computer to save settings, then open Word
or Excel, maximize, then Exit the applications while Maximized, then reboot
again to see if the settings hold.
