"Maximized" window isn't maximized

After a power interruption my Outlook Express window isn't maximized when it
is supposed to be. Of course, I can drag it to fill the screen manually.

All of my other windows behave normally.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try this please. Use your mouse & double-click on the Title bar (at top). If still not at max, repeat again.
Once you have it, close & exit properly. Then, re-run O.E.

The window toggles between "regular" and what it thinks is "maximized".
However, in maximized mode it does not fill the screen.

Try this please. Use your mouse & double-click on the Title bar (at top).
If still not at max, repeat again.
Once you have it, close & exit properly. Then, re-run O.E.

Here are a few things I would try:

- Unlock the taskbar, minimize the taskbar, press the Maximize button
within OE, then bring the taskbar back to the size you prefer.

- In Display Properties, change the screen resolution, then go back it
and reset it where you prefer it.

If Maurice doesn't mind my popping in unannounced........toggle the window to
"regular", drag the window borders to fill the screen as you want it, then hold down
the CTRL key while you close the window by using the X in the upper right corner.

After that, start Outlook Express again. Does the window open full-sized now, or do
you still have the problem?

Hey Glee;
I have a similar problem but using your & Joe's suggestion doesnt seem to
help. My Windows screen looks like it is in reg mode but is in the expanded
mode but still wont fill the entire screen. I have about an 1inch & 1/4
black border all around it. I was typing and my clumsy fingers probably hit a
combo of keys and changed something but I cant figure out what. I've looked
at all the keyboard shortcuts and sticky keys but cant figure it out. Help,
this is really annoying.

It doesn't sound like you are describing the same issue. You mention a black border
all around. That sounds to me like you also have the black border with no window
open....IOW even on the desktop. If that's the case, you need to use the control
buttons on the front of the monitor to expand and center the picture on the screen.

If the monitor controls are set to full expansion and still don't fill the screen,
try setting a different Refresh Rate in Windows' display properties.
