Maximising Screen

I've just installed Windows 2000 onto my laptop but when I
loaded it up the deskop screen will not maximise to the
whole screen. It's placed right in the middle of the
screen and I can't maximise it. Please help
 
Right-click on and empty area of the desktop, and click Properties. Click the Settings tab, and move the slider for the resolution one tick to the right. This should increase the size of your display.
