Max number of records in a table?

Is there a maximum limit on the number of records in a
table? I've searched under 'specifications' in Help but
have not found this particular one.

No, not really....But there is a limit to the overall size of the database
(1 Gig for A97, 2 Gig for A2k) BUT by linking to tables of different
databases, you can store as much info as your hard drive will hold...

Am I right in saying that tables in Access 2000 (Jet 4) have a size
limitation of 1GB?

Thanks. Dan.

That's what it says in the Specifications help, but there's apparently
some controversy about this - one colleague wrote a little VBA loop to
write millions of records to a table, and got a .mdb file pushing the
2 GByte limit with nothing in it but the one table. However, this
table wasn't actually being *used* for anything so it might or might
not have been fully functional!
