Max. No. of worksheets in a workbook

I am having 1200 items, for each item i have to maintain a worksheet on a
workbook.
How many work sheets i can add? It it is less than my items, please let me
know, hot to increase.

normally it is only resticted by memory BUT I really dobt you will be able
to add 1200 worksheets and BTW Excel then is probably not the right tool to
store your data if you need 1200 pages?

Consider using a database or a different tool depending on the type of your
data
 
Just to add to Frank's reply.

I would find a workbook with 1200 worksheets very difficult to navigate
through. Finding the one sheet I needed could take a long time.

If your data is small enough, maybe you could just use one worksheet. But use a
separate column as an indicator.

Then you could use Data|filter|autofilter to see/hide the stuff you want.
