My internal Disc drive suddenly stopped reading cdrw's and some cdr's. I have
been using it to create mp3 files of my vinyl albums which I have been
burning (on a stand alone cd recorder) to cdrw's. All was working fine until
I tried a straight rip of an older regular cd from my collection, since then
- trouble. I feel that some sort of odd code must have been writtten to XP's
cd registry but don't know how to access it and deal wth it. Any
suggestions would be most helpful.

I realize they're not "missing" but that is the most common reason why
people need to muck about with upperfilters and lowerfilters. I'd start
there thinking that that might be the problem here.
