MATLAB doesn't work with XP!?

I just bought a new computer with XP. The only
application I moved over that didn't work was MATLAB
R12,Version 6. I tried all the compatibility modes
without success. I always get the message "matlab has
encountered a problem and needs to close... Please tell
Microsoft", which I did. Any ideas on what I should do
differently? I've run MATLAB R12 on WIN ME and WIN 2K
with no problem.

Hello Carlos,

I have Matlab R13 V. 6.5, and I have no problems running it. Perhaps you
may need to check that one out.

I loaded the JRE Patch as instructed and it now works
like a charm. Thanks for the pointer.
