Does any of you know any freeware equation editor besides MathType and
MathCast? I was wondering because I would like to replace it by
freeware but I can't find anywhere nothing like it.

Thanks in advance.

PS: Could anyone recommend me a mp3 tag editor, freeware and that
allows you to edit lyrics?

Hello,
Does any of you know any freeware equation editor besides
MathType and MathCast? I was wondering because I would like
to replace it by freeware but I can't find anywhere nothing
like it.

I saw a recommendation for http://www.texmacs.org/

Also the one inside OpenOffice.org is rated good.

I can warmly recommend LaTeX, too (the already mentioned TeXMacs is
based on TeX/LaTeX). If you take the time to learn it, you'll be
producing professionally typeset mathematics easily.

A big open question is the format that you need. You need an
equation editor for what? To insert equations in Word? To generate
EPS files? ...

Wald

I need the equation editor to insert equations in Word, in order to be
able to edit them later.

Yes, I use LaTex, but I have to distribute the documents among people
who haven't even heard of it.
