I suspect that David is asking about graphs of math functions, such as
polynomials or trigonometric functions.
It's possible to use Microsoft Chart (in Word, use Insert > Object >
Microsoft Graph Chart) by choosing a chart type of "XY (Scatter)" and
entering values for the points in the data area. However, Chart can't
calculate values from formulas, so you'd have to calculate the values
separately and enter them.
It would be much easier to make the chart in Excel and then copy/paste into
Word (or Paste Special and choose to link to the Excel spreadsheet).
