Mates System

Bulla

Put together a machine for a mate yesterday.

Abit NF7
512mb ddr
Ati 9500
120gb Seagate

etc etc.

All went together fine.

Trying to install an operating system and it either blue screens while its
copying files across for set up. Or keeps missing files that it couldnt read
from the CD, and then blue screens after we skip them all. Blue screens have
been different everytime with no pattern to them.

Tried, different HD, different media, different cables, different OS, Ram in
different slot.

Any suggestions as to whats up ? I'm thinking either Ram or m'board.

Had the same issue on two different systems that turned out to be bad RAM,
so it's worth a shot swapping it out :)

had a simmliar problem trying to install win xp. win 98 would install fine
but xp would not install unless i set the bios to the fail safe options in
the bios, and then set them to optimised defaults once the os was installed
