Matching data between Worksheets in different Workbooks

I am trying to copy a list of film titles I have in one worksheet contained
in one workbook to another worksheet in another workbook. There are no
formulae involved, it is not a mathematical process, simply information.
There must be a link between the 2 worksheets so that any changes in the
original are reflected in the destination worksheet. I have tried linking
and paste special, but nothing seems to work. I am convinced this is because
I have not fully understooed the processes involved. Can anyone tell me
which is the best option and then give me a detailed step-by-step method of
how I can achieve what I want?

Should work as you describe.

1. Highlight the data and choose copy
2. Activate the other workbook
3. Choose Edit, Paste Special, Paste Links

The easiest way to do this is to show both workbooks on screen:
1. With both workbooks open choose Window, Arrange, Tile, OK.

Alternatively:
When you are in this view you can move to the workbook without the data and
type
=
and then click in the other workbook, select the sheet and then the cell by
clicking, and then press enter.
You can copy the resulting formula but you will need to remove the $ signs
so it is a relative reference.
