hi,

i have the following:

=MATCH(AC2,sheet2!B2:sheet2!B63001,0))

but the only thing is that there a lot of duplicates of what is being looked
for. i would like to know how i can deal with this, and make sure that the
LAST match number is given.

thanks in advance,
geebee

Try this function
=INDEX($B$1:$B$10,MATCH(MAX(IF($A$1:$A$10="A",ROW($A$1:$A$10))),IF($A$1:$A$10="A",ROW($A$1:$A$10)),0))
The thing in quotes, in this case A, is the thing that you want to 'match'.
