Master Document in Word 2007

Donna Brehler

I am creating a 250 page manual that has many sections to it. I've read the
nightmares people have had using the Master Document feature in Word in years
past. Does anyone know if this feature has been redone and working better in
Word 2007 or what you'd suggest in its place?

There's no indication that the Master Document feature received any
particular attention in developing Word 2007.

You could either create a single document - 250 pages is not huge in the
overall scheme of things - or you could create each part as a separate
document, based on the same template, then use the boiler.dot add-in -
http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm - to combine them
Or you could keep your fingers crossed and hope that master document doesn't
screw up and destroy your work.

If you choose the latter, do at least keep copies of the parts well away
from the master document ;)
