Mass email

We have a large database of people that we legitimately want to send emails
to. In my first attempt, I was blacklisted by several services and
identified as a spammer - this is a big problem. How can this be avoided?
Can I use either outlook or some third party add-in that can send mass email
in a manner that won't get me in trouble?

Do a mail merge to electronic mail - it sends an individual message to each
recipient. But check with your ISP - they may have some limits that will be
triggered even by that.

My solution was to contact my ISP (Cox Communications) and
change from a residential account to a Business account
with a fixed IP address. Then I applied to them for a Mass
Mailing permission. Once granted, they contact the other
services that you are "legit." AOL was my initial problem.

Some of the conditions placed on me was; 1. I keep
subscribers requests on file, 2. If I send to more than
1,000 recipients it must be done between 11:00 p.m. and
4:00 a.m., 3. I must maintain the distribution list by
removing all undeliverable e-mail addresses.

However, I can send to 150 recipients at a time during all
hours.
