Why does MAS run so much slower than other Anti Spyware products I have?

I find it runs then same if not faster, compared to Adaware

The possibility is spyware has been detected and you need to remove. On the
System Summary Page, you should see a link to detected threats, select it
and choose appropriate actions to remove, quarantine or ignore spyware.

I think what I was seeing was the run time of the deep scan I have running
at night, and comparing that to quick scan times of MAS and others.
